These pendants are made from pieces of shell. The dark round ones have a lot of colour in them. Some of the lighter coloured pendants are pieces of shell with a pearl growing in them, creating a raised surface impression. Other pieces are carved into fleur de lis, ring, diamond ogee and oval shape. No two pieces of shell are identical, so no one piece is exactly repeatable. However these illustration give you a fair idea of the item style. Most of these pieces have been set on strands of freshwater pearls and one piece i shown on a pearl wire. Such bold statement pieces are highly fashionable at the present time and combine an ethnic feel with a classic look.
